Destinni Brown

      Du Fu is a Chinese poet from the Tang dynasty. He is called the greatest Chinese poet. His dream was that he would become a civil servant like his father, but he failed to become one. Du Fu's poems were described to have an emotionally impact about political and social issues. He died in 770 in Hunan Province.

Du Fu
   The country is broken, though hills and rivers remain,

   In the city in spring, grass and trees are thick.
   Moved by the moment, a flower's splashed with tears,
   Mourning parting, a bird startles the heart.
   The beacon fires have joined for three months now, Family letters    are worth ten thousand pieces.
   I scratch my head, its white hairs growing thinner,
   And barely able now to hold a hairpin.

    Spring View is talking about how there country is broken and how to many people have died for there country. How families are mourning of there dead loved ones. The speaker talks about how he is seeing everyone depressed. How they should fix their there country. The figurative language in Spring View would be juxtapositions of power between human and nature. A example is "a flower splashed with tears." Another example is "mourning parting, a bird startles the heart." The tone of Spring View would be sadness, and stressful. It would be sadness because of the loved ones that are dying. It would also be stressful because Du Fu is worried about his country, and how he is getting older and nothing is getting better. A theme for Spring View would be the way you live can take a toll on you.
